Welcome back to Term 3! Hopefully the cold weather will soon be over and we can enjoy the sunshine and the opportunity for some great outdoor learning.

ICAS

Thank you to the families who have taken up the opportunity for their child to participate in the ICAS assessments. These assessments are spread out over the month of August and will begin next week with Writing and Digital Technologies. We wish all the children involved the best of luck and look forward to hearing their results.

HSIE

Last week staff were walked through the new Human Society and its Environment (HSIE) syllabus. The syllabus aims to develop students' understanding of how humans interact with the world, how societies operate, and how they are changing. It aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and values to become active, informed, and responsible citizens in a complex and ever-changing world. Moving forward at St James’, the staff are working on new Scope and Sequences and programs to implement in 2026.

Parent Information Letters

These letters were sent via Compass to families last Friday. Please ensure you read the note that aligns with your child/ren’s grade as they contain important information about the term.

Parent/Teacher Conversations – Now Open!

We’re looking forward to welcoming families for our upcoming Parent/Teacher conversations, which can now be booked via Compass. These meetings are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate your child’s progress and strengthen the partnership between home and school.

Students are warmly encouraged to attend alongside their parents and carers—after all, these conversations are all about them!

Bookings will close at midday on Wednesday 6th August, so please make sure to secure your time slot. Each conversation is scheduled for 10 minutes, allowing teachers time to prepare and ensure a meaningful discussion with you.
