Diocesen Rugby Union
Last week, Ollie P, Noah K, and Ace H attended the Diocesan Rugby Union trials, joining over 40 boys vying for selection in the diocesan team. Congratulations to all three boys for their effort and commitment throughout the trials! We are proud to announce that Noah and Ace were successful in securing a place on the team. The boys will head off to Forbes in late June to attend the Polding Rugby selections. Go boys!
Polding Cross Country
Last week, Wil M and Evie L travelled to Sydney to compete in the Polding Cross Country Championships. Evie finished a strong 19th and her age group with Maitland Newcastle taking 1st place. Wil, meanwhile, achieved an incredible 3rd place. Congratulations to both Evie and Wil on their outstanding achievements! Wil will now go on to represent St James at the NSWPSSA Cross Country Championships in late July. Well done team!
AFL Gala Day
On Tuesday, two teams from St James competed at the AFL Paul Kelly Cup. The boys played three games, making the finals before narrowly losing, while the girls won four of their five games. A big thank you to our parent helpers for coaching and managing the teams; your support made the day possible. Congratulations to all of our students for representing St James with great sportsmanship, respect, and good manners.
2025 St James Athletics Carnival
After being postponed due to wet weather, our athletics carnival was finally able to go ahead last week, and we were greeted with beautiful sunny weather! It was a fantastic day filled with energy, enthusiasm, and great sportsmanship. Congratulations to all the children who participated and gave their best effort in each event. It was wonderful to see so many students demonstrating teamwork, resilience, and determination. A huge thank you to Mrs Fry for her organisation of a very successful day.
