From the Assistant Principal
New Syllabus Professional Learning for Teachers
This term, our staff are diving into Professional Learning to prepare for the implementation of the new PDHPE syllabus. Year 1 teachers have already begun familiarising themselves with the updated curriculum, which focuses on four key areas:
- Movement skill and physical activity
- Respectful relationships and safety
- Identity, health and wellbeing
- Self-management and interpersonal skills
At St James, we’re excited to integrate the Grow Your Mind wellbeing program into our PDH lessons, ensuring a holistic approach to student development.
Our pedagogical mentors, along with two staff members, will also attend Professional Learning on the new HSIE syllabus in Week 8 to support curriculum implementation.
